Exercise Log - Day 3

A fairly non-energetic day, thanks to crappy weather and chores in the town. Pedometer says 3200 steps, which is less than I'd like, but really, the rain today was hideous.

Not exactly dropping off, but not to worry.

Binge drinking? No, just a fairly normal night in the pub with some friends. Whilst the eating is under control, I don't need to worry too much about having a few a pints. The main problem with drinking, for me, is when I get home and start raiding the fridge. Luckily for me, the Sarah Palin soap opera is more interesting than anything in our fridge.

Exercise Log - Day 2

(8.30 - 9.00)
Drove Mrs R up to the bus stop and walked home, taking in a new Geocache on the way back. About 2 miles. Picked a few blackberries along the way.

(2.00 - 3.30)
More shovelling muck, about the same as yesterday, but with added rain. Still need at least one more load.

Bit of Wii tennis later on. And some poker, but I don't suppose that really counts.

Food Log - Day 2

The ironies of dieting. Eat light all day, go to bed hungry, get up ½ a pound heavier than yesterday.

Breakfast (8.00)
Toast x 2 - 4 pts
Marmite
Coffee

(8.45)
Blackberries - ½ pt (while walking)

Lunch
Pointless soup* - 0 pts
Bread - 6pts
Marmite

Fruit - 2 pears and a plum - 1½ pts

Supper
Pasta - 4 pts
Bolognese Sauce - 5 pts

Total
21 pts

No wonder I'm starving.

* "Pointless Soup" is straight out of the Weight Watchers handbook. The way Mrs R makes it, it's mostly tinned tomotoes and chopped carrots, fleshed out with whatever's in the garden. Half a huge marrow, in the current batch's case. Too much bread with the soup. Need to find other easy things to eat with soup. Noodles or something, maybe.

Exercise Log - Day 1

Spent about an hour and a half moving muck this morning and early afternoon. Filling plastic sacks (18 of 'em) with manure from our friends' farm, bringing them home, wheelbarrowing into the back garden and spreading the lovely smelling stuff on our raised beds.

In the afternoon, a couple of games of Wii tennis and 3 boxing bouts. I've started with a new Mii, and the first time I did the fitness test on Wii Sports it said I was 27! Lucky I did the fitness test before unlocking any of those pesky difficult tasks.

No walking yet today, maybe later.

First time on the scales since the beginning of August, and nice to see that I've actually lost a couple of pounds since then. The first mini target is 227lbs (dropping 5lbs) to get me out of the rather scary obese category on the BMI, and into the slightly less scary overweight section. Then the real struggle begins.

The morning toast saw off the last of the bread, so I had to make more after breakfast. This hadn't risen enough by the time we'd finish moving muck (see next entry), so I stuck it in the oven as soon as I lit it, and it was done to a turn by the time the soup was ready. Had to adapt the soup a little, no cream obviously, but was surprised it still only came to 2 points. Mrs R made the chick pea and chard thingy tonight, and we finished off nearly our entire annual beetroot crop.
